How do I know the company is properly licensed?
In order to operate in Hillsborough County each company must be licensed by the Hillsborough County
Public Transportation Commission (HCPTC). The HTPTC requires an extensive list of information on each
owner and the business before a limousine Certificate is issued. Each vehicle must have a silver permit
located in the lower back corner of the rear window. If the company is not licensed there is a good reason
and an excellent reason to look for one that is a certificate holder. Being properly licensed is the first step in
knowing that you have picked a good company. To check if a company is licensed you may call the HCPTC at
(813)-272-5814.

We would be happy to assist in your selection of the appropriate vehicle for your needs.
PRICE
The biggest mistake you can make is selecting a limo service based solely on price. There are many
variances of quality and price for limos. A lower price can translate into a larger risk for you; inadequate
equipment, service, under-insured vehicles, or unprofessional staff.
HOURLY RATES
Ask about hourly minimums. Most will have a five to six hour minimum. Reputable companies will not split
your time up while you are not using the limo. Inquire about all the rates involved, including hourly charges,
driver fees, surcharges, etc. Again, we strongly urge you not to base your decision on price alone.
LICENSING & PERMITS
The Hillsborough County Transportation Commission governs all limousine service providers. To legally
operate in Hillsborough County, there must be a small silver sticker on the rear window of the cars; which is
provided only after a thorough inspection of the vehicle and company by the Commission.
CHAUFFEURS
Select a company with drivers who have been properly screened by the Sheriff’s Office and carries
appropriate ID on his/her person. If your driver does not have an ID or cannot get one, something may be
wrong. The Public Transportation Commission also requires drivers to wear these ID badges at all times.
CONTRACTS
Most reputable companies will require a parent or legal guardian to sign a contract. A contract will
specifically state the written rules and regulations (i.e., no smoking, no drinking, unruly behavior, etc.). Any
violation of their rules will most likely result in termination of their services with no refund. As a signing party,
you will be responsible for any damage to the vehicle.
ITINERARY
Provide the limo company with your entire pick up and drop off locations so proper routing will insure the best
use of your time in the limo.
